From the outset, the implications of this book are terrifying. In this thorough, and sometimes disquieting, investigation of the biblical predictions, the Great Apostasy emerges, not as a foreboding future event, but as the very essence of today's postmodern Church.

Like tares in the wheat field, false adherents are presently growing up alongside true believers. But how will we know them? What are the distinguishing qualities of these apostate confessors?

This is where Steve Gallagher is at his best. By mining the treasure-laden writings of past centuries and carefully examining the sacred Scriptures, he exposes the prevailing self-centeredness, widespread sensuality, and rebellion to authority that epitomizes this false part of the Body.

Be prepared for your perspective of the End Times Church to be forever changed.

“The audacity of Steve Gallagher to challenge the status quo of modern-day Christianity! Leave us alone! We enjoy our sin and selfish ways. Every page of this book cries out the question: ‘What evidence do I have that I am a child of God?’”
David Ravenhill Author and Itinerant Teacher

“Excellent. It is strong yet very scriptural and points to solutions. It lays an excellent foundation as to the roots of apostasy.”
    Don Wilkerson
    Teen Challenge International

“Thousands of new Christian books are published every year. Many are good, this one is excellent.”
    Steve Hill Evangelist

“Christians are being deceived by a seductive, fashionable Christianity of cheap grace and easy believism. Steve Gallagher’s book is reminiscent of Charles Finney’s messages on revival.”
Dennis Lindsay Christ for the Nations

“It is rare indeed to hear such strong truth expressed with such great love. I picked up the manuscript to take a preliminary glance at it and found that I couldn’t put it down. Your riveting account of the cold state of the Church kept me wanting more and more of God with each chapter. I am convinced that you have expressed the very heart of God for this season.”
Jim Corbett Author of A White Stone

“Anything apart from a deep work of repentance in my heart will burn like dry grass. Heed this challenging message from Standing Firm through the Great Apostasy; without this piece you’re just playing an empty religious game.”
James MacDonald Walk in the Word Radio Program

“It is rare in this day of shallow doctrine and worldliness to find someone with the courage to cry out, ‘Enough!’ With a heart like the prophets of old, Steve Gallagher calls God’s people to godly sorrow, heart-felt repentance and renewed purity. Churches and individuals who are seeking a closer walk with God will find this book convicting and yet uplifting. I dare you to read it!”
Ed Bulkley Walk Through the Word Radio Program

“Standing Firm through the Great Apostasy is very powerful and biblical. There are so many ‘parrot’ voices today - repeating what others say and teach. Steve’s books are original and anointed. I truly feel that Steve Gallagher is a John the Baptist, calling out to today’s church, as a voice crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord!’”
Randy Jones President, Word of Truth Ministries

“Once again Steve Gallagher has written a book which touches a nerve in the life of the church here in America. ‘Standing Firm through the GREAT APOSTASY’ forces the reader to inspect his commitment to Christ and ask himself, ‘Do I really know Jesus?’ I highly recommend it.”
    Ron Auch Author and Pastor

Such a needed book for our times. It is one of the best Christian books I've read in a long time, not because it made me "feel good" but because I believe the author makes a very strong case that we all need to examine ourselves to make sure we truly are in the faith. I believe all the chapters are based on scripture and, as such, reflect God's Word and warning to us not to make God into our image and not to think of the sinners prayer as a formula we pray to automatically have a ticket to heaven. Yes, we may pray and truly repent to receive eternal life, but if we're only going through the motions and not giving ourselves the best way we know how to follow the Lord, then we may be deceiving ourselves. As a culture most have forgotten that God is Holy and righteous and Jesus, the 2nd person of the trinity, calls us to repent and follow Him. True faith and repentance will produce good works which will be evident in the true believer over time. I'm giving kind of an overall synopsis of the message in this book. It's been a while since I read the book and I think I need to read it again. Eternity is forever and ever and to spend it apart from God in torment is the most horrific thing I can think of. Surely none of us wants to be the often "religious" but unsaved person that Jesus addresses in Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them*, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

I bought this book shortly after it was published. This book by Gallagher along with some of his other books have been books that I go back to on a regular basis especially when I feel the need for personal revival. It is a book that would fit into books with Leonard Ravenhill and A. W. Tozer. It is a strong call for a modern day church to turn toward holiness, personal renewal, and prayer.

I couldn't even make it through the first chapter before Holy Spirit was heavy on me, with a weighty presence, full of reverent awe and the fear of God. I wept, I praised, and just wow, Jesus is amazing.

This book is worth far more than 1,000 times the money it cost to buy, for I know Holy Spirit can use it to bring us into deeper intimacy with Jesus, which has eternal ramifications!

If you only have the few dollars necessary to buy this book, buy it. If you don't have the funds, find them. Sell something.

Yes. I recommend this book. It caught me by surprise. God used it in me and will likely do so in you too.

The spirit of the age in which we live is self-centeredness. Christianity begins and ends in the heart. Salvation is free and people want the happiness of heaven without a change of heart, they are hypocrites, false converts with an outward form of godliness. We cannot live for God and live for self at the same time. When we are converted we transfer our trust from self to God. There is a submitting of our will to his. By remaining connected to Christ we undergo an inner transformation that affects our behavior. As the Bride of Christ we are called to abandon our own interest and subject them to the Lordship of Christ our Husband. Retaining control over our own lives is to reject the Lord that bought us.

Get ready to be shocked into reality. If you don't want to hear depart from me you workers of iniquity you need to read this book. It will stimulate you to not just possess information about the kingdom of God but to apply what you learn and provoke you to examine your heart and motives to ensure that God is truly on the throne of your heart.
