I believe that the book "And the Bride Wore White" is one that would greatly benefit junior and senior high school girls today. Dannah speaks from the heart regarding relationships with "guys", your relationship with God, and how to keep them both where they belong. She clearly shares with her readers the benefits of staying both physically and emotionally pure. Her stories about her dating experiences are relevent today, giving girls solutions to problems that can be life changing when handled appropriately. It was a great book to read, easy to follow, and a blessing to me as a mom and former "teen girl".
In the book "and the Bride Wore White-seven secrets to sexual purity" by Dannah Gresh, Dannah draws the reader into a closer walk with God in addition to learning about purity. The author invites the reader to pray to God and ask him for help in the process of pursuing purity. She makes the book personal by sharing her own journal entries and by asking the reader to write some of her own. The greatest thing that I learned from this book is that purity is a process. We were not born pure, so none of us have "lost" our purity. Dannah talks about how we need to come to God as we are, and not wait until we feel we are ready to come to Him. Many readers will be able to identify with this book. From the girl who has just started dating, to a senior in college.
I was so inspired by this book. It gave me practical and realistic steps to truly honor God with my life and relationships. The mix of stories from Dannah Gresh's personal experiences and interviews with others made the content even more readable and easy to apply. After finishing the book, I was refreshed and encouraged to pursue God's best in love and life. All teenage and young adult women should get this book. It's a tool for life's journey that you don't want to miss.
I have used this book for several purity sessions and it is AWESOME! I highly recommend it! It's a fairly easy read as well.
It felt more like a heart-to-heart girl-talk with a good friend after I finished reading Dannah Gresh's book in a single night. Through my tears and laughter, her written words penetrated the very depths and secret desires of my heart thirsty for the understanding and wisdom revealed in the pages of And The Bride Wore White. Dannah gives woman - both young and old - practical advice and godly insight on how to treasure relationships with higher standards of purity and integrity. It is a book I gave away immediately because the message within changed my life and will, I believe, change the life of every woman who peeks beyond its cover.
